One button, and the type of help needed

  • MedicalAn injury, illness or health emergency.
  • SecurityA threat, an assault or an unsafe situation.
  • FireFire or smoke.
  • OtherAnything else where someone needs help now.
  • On any phoneAn Android app, or added to the home screen on iPhone.

What happens after the tap

The staff member does one thing. Everything after that is the system's job, until a person picks it up.

  1. 1

    Tap and choose

Tap SOS and pick medical, security, fire or other.

  2. 2

    A few seconds to cancel

A countdown (8 seconds unless you change it) lets them cancel an accidental tap before anyone is alerted.

  3. 3

    Security sees it

The dashboard beeps and shows who, what kind of help, and where they are on the map.

  4. 4

    No answer? It calls

If nobody acknowledges within 5 minutes, it calls, WhatsApps and emails your contacts in order.

  5. 5

    Closed, not forgotten

Acknowledged but still open after 10 minutes? It escalates again. Security closes it with a note.

Built for the person on their own

Housekeeping on an empty floor, the night auditor, a room service server at a guest's door. The app asks for nothing in an emergency except one tap and one choice.

  • One tap, then pick the type of help
  • A short countdown to cancel an accidental tap, with no alerts sent
  • After that, only security can close the case, so it can't be quietly dismissed
  • Location, battery and signal sent every 10 seconds while the case is open
  • The phone stops sending its location as soon as the case is closed
  • Android app, or add it to the home screen on iPhone

Security sees it the moment it happens

The SOS dashboard refreshes on its own and beeps when a new case comes in. Each case shows who raised it, what kind of help, and where their phone is right now.

  • Live list of active and acknowledged cases
  • Acknowledge with one click; close with a note
  • A map of every location ping, with the route they moved
  • Open the route in Google Maps to get there
  • Battery and signal from the staff member's phone

If nobody answers, it keeps calling

Set your escalation contacts in order: the security head, the duty manager, the GM. When an SOS goes unanswered, Foxotel phones them, sends a WhatsApp and an email, and records whether each call was picked up.

  • Contacts in order of priority
  • Phone call, WhatsApp and email, each switchable
  • First escalation after 5 minutes without acknowledgement, or straight away if you prefer
  • Escalates again if a case is acknowledged but not closed after 10 minutes
  • Each call logged as answered, no answer or busy, with how long it lasted
  • Calls and WhatsApp go out through your own Twilio account, with a test call button and a test mode

A record you can stand behind

Every case keeps its full story: who raised it, every location ping, who was called and whether they answered, who acknowledged it and how it was closed. Management sees how quickly escalations are being answered.

  • A timeline of every action on a case, by staff, admin or the system
  • The GPS trail kept with the case
  • Reports on escalation calls: how many, how many answered and how fast, by round
  • CSV export
  • Add staff in bulk from a CSV file
  • Deactivating a staff member signs them out of the app
